Hallo! Wir sind Katharina und Isabel aus Deutschland. Von September bis Dezember 2014 haben wir ein Semester in Grenoble am IUT2 verbracht. Dies wurde uns durch die Kooperation der Fachhochschule für öffentliche Verwaltung NRW mit dem IUT2 Grenoble ermöglicht.

Wir haben Kurse im Studiengang Carrière Juridique belegt. ERASMUS war für uns eine tolle Chance, unsere Sprache zu verbessern, neue Freunde zu finden und ein anderes Land kennenzulernen. Auf einer anderen Sprache zu studieren, war dabei gar nicht so schwierig wie gedacht.

Wenn euch die Idee eines Aufenthalts im Ausland reizt, meldet Euch doch bei den relations internationales und informiert euch. Es lohnt sich!

My time on Erasmus and at IUT2 has been a life-changer for me. I have not only learnt interesting and exciting new things from a different perspective, but I have also gained valuable life skills as well. Studying Techniques de Commercialisation for one year helped me improve my understanding of international commerce and gave me a valuable insight into French culture – from discovering how sales negotiations are performed in France to understanding universally-accepted marketing principals. Learning here has been challenging but highly rewarding and it has taught me a great deal about myself as much as purely what you learn in a classroom. Outside of the classroom, I started working for the college as an English Language Assistant to help students improve their conversational skills. I also continued to play American Football as I had done at university in England, getting the fantastic opportunity to play for the Centaures de Grenoble for the year. That for me was excellent and I have learnt new things and I cannot wait to take that experience back with me to England again.To add to that, I’ve immersed myself in the Erasmus culture, getting to meet people from all over the world and learning about how different people live. I’ve made some extraordinary friends who I will remain friends with forever. To go on Erasmus is a life-changer for you.

Bueno pues llego el fin de mi Eramus en Grenoble, después de nueve meses se hace difícil decirle adiós. Es una ciudad muy acogedora, al principio todos tenemos dudas sobre las asignaturas, los créditos, el alojamiento, pero aquí lo hacen muy fácil. Te dan todas las facilidades para que puedas adaptar tu acuerdo académico. Fuera del apartado académico, es la ciudad con mas universitarios de Francia, y si te gusta el deporte te da la posibilidad de hacer cualquier deporte, ski, escalda, paseos por la montaña, bici..etc. Quizá al principio todos es un poco duro por la cantidad de papeles y adaptarte a una nueva cultura, pero ahora que veo el final, puedo decir que ha sido una experiencia única que me ha hecho crecer como persona.

Mes premiers mois à Grenoble ont été difficiles à cause du nouveau système universitaire, la nouvelle vie et surtout la pression due à la qualité de la formation qu'offre GEA . Aujourd’hui je suis très content d’être venu à Grenoble, particulièrement d’être venu à l'IUT2 et je souhaiterais y rester. Je me suis fait plein d'amis et j’essaie de m'adapter au fur et à mesure "malgré les partiels". Grenoble est une très belle ville et un bon cadre pour étudier. J'ai rencontré des étudiants venant de toute la planète je peux dire.
 

My Erasmus experience at the IUT2 Grenoble was all I had bargained for when I first enrolled in the programme. Having the opportunity to benefit from other students’ Erasmus stories back at my home University, mine unfolded just as beautifully in it’s own way. A different and breathtaking scenery though, since my residence, Le Rabot, was litterally happily situated on the Bastille, the view from my window being the entire city and the sorrounding three mountain tops. Everyone was polite and welcoming, with people casually saying “hello” to eachother in the corridors as total strangers and the IUT2 teachers and students offering their support for as pleasant an experience as possible. I found following french courses on legal subjects not quite as difficult as I thought they would be and the carrières juridiques department turned out to be a thoroughly instructive academic pursuit from more than one perspective. The attention given to the practical side of the field and the continous work in groups and reenacting of real-life scenarios between clients and professionals gave me a new outlook that the more theoretical approach of my previous studies did not cover with as much precision. All in all, the academic side of my mobility broadened my horizons method-wise and as to the cultural side of things, I can only say it more than met my expectations. Aside from the lovely immersion in french culture that surpassed the romantic idea of France that I got from the media, I experienced a cultural clash far wider than suspected, since Grenoble is home to some 7000 exchange students from all around the world each year. Needless to say I met people representing more nationalities than in all my previous existence and enjoyed each encounter. There are countless others little anecdotes and priceless memories, but I encourage you to discover your own!

Je suis venu à l'IUT2 de Grenoble avec l'intention de vivre plusieurs premières expériences: mon premier voyage en avion, mon premier voyage en train, ma première expérience sans mes parents, etc. Considérant ces objectifs, mon voyage a totalement atteint mes espérances. Je suis quelqu'un d'assez peu rigoureux lorsque qu'il vient le temps de faire mes devoirs et le fait d'avoir autant de formulaires à remplir et d'être tout seul à des milliers de kilomètres de chez moi m'a donné confiance. Le quotidien à Grenoble à la résidence Olympique était sans reproche. Avec le centre commercial Grand Place à 3 minutes à pied, j'avais tout ce que j'avais besoin à portée de la main. Les chambres rénovées étaient parfaites (eau chaude, chauffage, internet, rangement). Les gens en général étaient gentils et faciles d'approche autant à l'IUT2 (les professeurs, les étudiants, les gens de l'international) qu'à la résidence et les autres services présents à Grenoble. J'aime bien faire du Geocaching de temps à autres et c'était un super endroit avec plusieurs caches à des endroits très touristiques de la ville. Le transport en commun était aussi super facile à comprendre et à utiliser avec les tramways et les bus. Le seul bémol de mon séjour fut les nombreuses manifestations qui m'ont empêchés assez souvent de prendre le transport en commun considérant que j'étais assez loin de l'IUT.
